What are the Best NFT Marketing Ideas?

NFT marketing agencies can be quite costly to hire, so only employ the help of one when you really have the budget for it.

If you’d like to DIY, then you’ll need to think creatively and find an NFT marketing strategy that works for your project.

Here are some proven NFT marketing strategies that I’ve seen many NFT projects and NFT artists use.

1. Give away free NFTs as incentives

A great way to market your NFTs is by giving away freebies. This will help you attract attention to your project and get people interested in what you’re offering.

Incentives can be given in exchange for signing up for your mailing list, sharing your project on social media, or even just taking a look at your project.

Interest is more easily garnered when there are free things involved. Getting into an NFT project can be incentivized by offering a lucky draw chance to win a more exclusive NFT, or any extra merch/swag related to the NFT!

This adds more value to the NFT, incentivizing the purchase decision of your consumers/holders.

2. Collaborate with other NFT projects

Another great way to market your NFTs is by collaborating with other NFT projects. This will help you reach a wider audience and get more people interested in your project.

There are many ways to collaborate with other NFT projects. For example, you can offer to be a featured artist on another project’s website or blog, or you can collaborate on an NFT art collection.

Collaborations can happen across YouTube channels if your project wants to begin organically marketing from there. These do not need to be paid as it’s considered a collaboration.

Also, offering to write a guest blog post on another NFT project or crypto project’s blog can give your website credibility, augmenting your content marketing strategy.

Collaborating on an NFT collection also helps to build rarity into the products, as it’s usually a limited edition digital asset that isn’t so easily available.

This is a great way to get your NFT collections’ and your project’s name out there. It’s also a great way to build relationships with other NFT projects.

3. Incentivize people to follow you on social media

A great way to get more people interested in your project is by offering incentives for people to follow you on social media.

This can be done by giving away free NFTs, or by offering discounts on NFT purchases.

Social media is a great way to connect with potential customers and followers. It’s also a great way to build hype and buzz among your NFT community as it is easily shareable among people.

However, do make sure you are wary of warning people about potential scams, as there are always fake Twitter, Instagram, and Discord accounts trying to perform fraud.

By incentivizing people to follow your social media pages/platforms, you’ll build an audience over time that you can push products or market to.

4. Create a blog or video series about NFTs

If you already have a YouTube channel or a website with a blog, blogging or creating videos about NFTs is a great way to market your project and attract attention to what you’re doing.

These two methods of marketing are known as content marketing and rely on both viral marketing strategies and organic marketing strategies. You’ll want to produce both longer-form shareable educational content (organic) and snappy, short-form content(viral).

This can be done by giving your opinions and insights about the NFT industry, or by documenting your journey as you create your own NFTs.

Many bigger websites and projects in the web 3.0 space now have blogs and YouTube channels of their own. They are shifting from viral, hype-based strategies to more educational, helpful content-based strategies.

5. Use Influencer NFT Marketing

Influencer marketing is a great way to get your NFT project in front of a large audience. However, it can be quite costly and there is no guarantee that the influencer will actually promote your project.

It’s important to do your research and pick an influencer that is a good fit for your project. You’ll also want to make sure that the influencer has a good relationship with their audience and is someone that their audience trusts.

An NFT project can use influencer marketing in a few different ways. For example, you can sponsor an influencer’s YouTube video or blog post. You can also collaborate with an influencer on an NFT art piece or on a video.

Influencer marketing can be quite effective if done correctly. However, it can also be quite costly. Make sure you do your research before committing to an influencer marketing campaign.

6. NFT Airdrops

NFT airdrops are a great way to get more people interested in your NFT project.

An NFT airdrop is when an NFT project does a giveaway, not limited to NFT giveaways, but also with freebies, or crypto tokens to people in exchange for them doing something, such as following you on social media or signing up for your mailing list.

Airdrops are often released to NFT holders as an incentive for holding an NFT. This can draw some attention from your audience back to your product and share the good news with more people.

7. Advertise on a blockchain-related website or NFT marketplace

Another great way to market your NFT project is by advertising on a blockchain-related website or NFT marketplace.

There are many websites and platforms that accept cryptocurrency or NFT advertising. Some examples include Twitter, Instagram, Discord servers, and Telegram groups.

NFT marketplaces also allow you to advertise on their sites and platforms. The buyer intent of the audience that visits these NFT platforms is really strong and NFT marketing campaigns that are targeted at this demographic/persona are usually very effective.

Advertising on these platforms can be quite effective as you’ll be able to target a very specific audience. However, it can also be quite costly. Make sure you do your research before committing to an advertising campaign.

Final Thoughts

There are many different ways to market your NFT project. The methods you choose will depend on your budget, your audience, and your goals.

Make sure you do your research and choose the marketing methods that are right for you. With a little bit of effort, you can make your NFT project a success. 🙂
